Band Bio
Combine the blues sound of the thirties and forties with the rock n' roll fury of Nirvana, The White Stripes and Jimi Hendrix, add a little 70's disco, and you have a rough idea of what to expect when you encounter art-rockers Rag Doll Girl.
The Rag Dolls took up arms in the middle of 2005, firstly as just two, Dave Whiting (drums) and Bozley (guitar/vocals). A number of successful shows followed, with the interplay of Bozley's screeching blues guitar and Whiting's disco influenced drumming striking a chord with an audience of oddballs and music-lovers alike. Later in the year the ranks were thickened with the addition of Daniel Menzies (bass/vocals). This addition created a much fuller sound and made the band a force to be reckoned with. Unfortunately, Dan's inability to commit fully to the band meant he had to be replaced by Mitch in March 2006. Their unusual influences, off the wall lyrics and singular appearance make for a truly unique live experience, and the band now seek to build on the success of their recent shows.
Rag Doll Girl have recently completed their first EP, entitled 'stitches', which is now available at all shows.
